Conditions for arrivals without quarantine

The government on Friday set entry requirements without quarantine from November 1 for arrivals by air from 46 countries, which also apply to people who have recently left Thailand for those countries.

He also provided details on arrivals under other criteria.

Apisamai Srirangson, spokesperson for the Center for Covid-19 Situation Administration, said on November 1 that Thailand would end the quarantine for fully vaccinated arrivals from Australia, Austria, Bahrain, Belgium, Bhutan, from Brunei, Bulgaria, Cambodia, Canada, Chile, China, Cyprus, Czech, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Latvia, Lithuania, Malaysia, Malta, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Slovenia, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, United States and Hong Kong.

Visitors to any of those countries must be fully vaccinated and have been in that country for at least 21 days prior to departure, she said.

They must have received their second dose of Covid-19 vaccine at least 14 days before their flight to Thailand.

They must have an RT-PCR test that comes back negative for Covid-19 no later than 72 hours before their flight. They must also have general health insurance coverage of at least US $ 50,000.

Upon arrival, visitors will receive another RT-PCR test and can travel without quarantine if the test is negative. While waiting for the result, they must stay one night in one of the specified hotels.

They have to download application software that will track their whereabouts.

People who previously left Thailand to visit one of the 46 countries, but stayed there for less than 21 days will not be quarantined and will not be required to have $ 50,000 health insurance coverage, said Dr Apisamai.

These non-quarantine measures apply to arrivals by charter flights at Suvarnabhumi, Don Mueang, Chiang Mai, Phuket, Samui, U-Tapao and Buri Ram airports.

Arrivals by other types of flights must fit into “sandbox” programs, for example in Phuket, Koh Samui, Koh Phangnga and Krabi.

They must be fully vaccinated, have health insurance of at least $ 50,000, and book accommodation for seven days in standard hotels located in sandbox areas, and their RT-PCR tests must also come back negative at most. late 72 hours before their flight.

These arrivals will be retested for Covid-19 upon arrival and on Day 6 or 7 afterward, before leaving their sandbox areas. If the first test is negative on arrival, visitors can visit the sandbox areas.

People who have not been vaccinated, received only one dose, received the second vaccine less than 14 days before their flight, or arrive from countries other than the 46 designated will be quarantined in specified locations , including hospitals for foreign patients seeking medical treatment in Thailand.

They will be tested on arrival and again before the end of their quarantine.

The measures were subject to change, depending on the Covid-19 situation, Dr Apisamai said.
