Como Hotels and Resorts will open the first French establishment – Business Traveler

The Como group has announced the project of its first property in France, located in Puligny-Montrachet in the Burgundy region of the country.

The group has bought the hotel Le Montrachet – which is housed in an 18th century property located around a village square – and plans to transform the hotel in several phases.

The property currently comprises four heritage buildings, with 31 rooms and suites, which will be converted into “chic shrines”, and a Shambhala retreat will also be added, which the group says will be the first of its kind in France.

The first phase of Como Le Montrachet is expected to be completed in 2022, with the group working with Milanese architect-designer Paola Navone.

Como also said that the emphasis on cuisine meant that guests could expect “exceptional dining options and exquisite wine experiences in one of the most beautiful settings.”

Como Le Montrachet will join the group’s European portfolio which currently includes Como Castello Del Nero in Tuscany, as well as two London properties – Como Metropolitan London and Como The Halkin.

Como Group currently operates 14 hotels in locations such as Bali, Turks and Caicos, Bangkok, Maldives and Perth (Australia). For our review of Como The Treasury, Perth (published in 2018), see:

Commenting on the news, Olivier Jolivet, CEO of the COMO group, said:

“With the recent sale of Como Metropolitan Miami Beach, this announcement underscores our strategy of developing pioneering properties in new destinations.

“In addition to Europe, we will also add a new luxury resort in the South Pacific to the portfolio next year. “
